Recently, there came a great change in the political landscape of our neighbour to the South. The Republican Party lost its hold on Congress to a very radical Democratic Party.
How did this happen? The media seems to think that it has something to do with the voters disapproval of the War on Terror, or perhaps the recent scandals among Republican officials swayed voters. However, none are mentioning the sharp drop of support from those voters who identify themselves as Evangelical Christians. And while they have noted the fall of Ted Haggard, few are linking him to the election.
And yet, even before his sordid personal life came to light (effectively ending his ministry), he had delivered the Evangelical vote into the hands of their enemy, the Left wing of American politics.
In this devastating and insightful book, Dr. Charles McVety exposes the cause for which Haggard betrayed his political allies and how it is linked to the great falling away predicted in scripture.

Canada 's New Lawmakers
how judicial activism undermines democracy, and how
Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin decrees Judges Must Be Lawmakers

"Queen" Beverly McLachlin
Chief Justice of the Canadian Supreme Court
By Charles McVety
August 13th, 2008
After being appointed for life, Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin decreed on May 5 th, 2001, “the lawmaking role of the judge has dramatically expanded. Judicial lawmaking is no longer always confined to small, incremental changes. Increasingly, it is invading the domain of social policy, once perceived as the exclusive right of Parliament and the legislatures.” Judges across the country are now making new laws every month and changing the foundational fabric of the nation. Judges now rule Canada with Beverley McLachlin, as the Chief lawmaker.

By John Clarke
July 2nd, 2008
On July 1st, 2008, Dr. Henry Morgantaler was awarded the Order Of Canada. Morgentaler was the medical doctor who, in 1970, was convicted and served time in prison for performing illegal abortions on thousands of women. Restricting his practice exclusively to abortions since 1969, he went on to face several more trials, he had his medical licence suspended, he opened abortion mills across Canada, and was victorious in his 1988 trial, which caused the end of all statutory restrictions on abortion in Canada.

Liberal Senators Want Changes On Bill C-10
By John Clarke
June 20th, 2008
Senators Francis Fox and Wilfred Moore wish to amend Bill C-10, which is before the senate. The bill, passed in the House Of Commons with an overwhelming majority, concerns tax policy, including a controversial section which would limit government subsidies of films containing child pornography, graohic sex, extreme violence, or offensive content "contrary to public policy."
The senators would remove the right of the heritage minister to refuse tax credits based on "public policy" or to issue guidelines about film content, give producers an efficient judicial appeal mechanism if the minister blocks or delays funding, but would continue to prevent government funding of pornography, child pornography, and hate propaganda.

Alberta Human Rights Commission Gags Pastor, Orders Him To Pay $7,000

Pastor Stephen Boissoin
By John Clarke
June 10th, 2008
In the latest of a series of anti-Christian rulings by Canadian Human Rights Commissions, Pastor Stephen Boissoin was ordered to forever desist from expressing his views on homosexuality in any kind of public forum. He was also ordered to pay the court costs of the man who issued the complaint against him, Dr. Darren Lund.
Dr. Darren Lund is a well known anti-Christian activist. While not homosexual himself, he nonetheless brought charges before the Commission, which like most Human Rights Commissions in Canada, has all of the authority, but none of the accountability (or clear written laws) of an actual court of law.

The Battle Against Naturalism:
Creation, Evolution and Intelligent Design
By John Clarke
June 28th, 2008
Are natural forces working alone enough to explain the origins, the complexity and the diversity of life on Earth?
To most scientists, it is simply unscientific to consider possibilities other than natural forces. To consider a supernatural origin for life is the same as believing in a flat Earth, simply ridiculous for any thinking person. They say any theory of a special creation must be rejected, no matter how strong the evidence for it must be, and the best natural explanation must be accepted, no matter how weak the evidence for it may be.

“Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed”
The Greatest Movie I have Ever Seen
By Charles McVety
June, 6th, 2008
In a time when an African-American can win the nomination of the Democratic Party to be the President of the United States of America, you would think that our educational system would be free from racism, and open to freedom of thought, expression, and inquiry. Nothing could be further from the truth. North America's Universities do not allow academic freedom--if you question the belief system of “Darwinism”. The last vestiges of the horrible scourge of racism remain firmly entrenched in the science classrooms of our society. A new film called, “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed”, cuts to the heart of the systematic indoctrination of unbelief in God. In the United States of America, this film opened in 1,100 theatres, and was number 10 at the box-office. Over 1.2 million people have paid to see the film, and now it is coming to Canada.

Barak Obama and
liberation theology
By John Clarke
June 5th, 2008
Any politician running for office can expect to be attacked by his ideological opponents, and Barak Obama is no exception. In the early days of his campaign for the Democratic nomination for president, he was criticized for not putting his hand on his heart during the American National Anthem, for his liberal voting record and for the possibility that he was Muslim.
He was able to counter the last one by pointing out his involvement with his Christian church, and his close relationship with the Pastor of his church, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. It was when excerpts from Wright's sermons came to light that Obama faced a major crisis in his campaign.

Good Reading:
 Christ and Culture Revisited
By D.A. Carson
Niebuhr's Christ & Culture is widely considered one of the most significant books on social ethics written in modern times, but detractors are not as certain of its categories and judgments. Carson argues that all five of Niebuhr's categories are viable and should be viewed as part of one single overarching biblical vision. Called to live in the world, but not to be of it, Christians must maintain a balancing act that becomes more precarious the further our culture departs from its Judeo-Christian roots. While many other books on culture interact with Niebuhr, none of them takes anything like the biblical-theological approach adopted here. Groundbreaking and challenging. 240 Pages. Hardcover from Eerdmans. D.A. Carson is research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical School, Deerfield, Illinois. He has written nearly fifty other books, including The Gagging of God: Christianity Confronts Pluralism; How Long, O Lord? Reflections on Suffering and Evil; and Becoming Conversant with the Emerging Church.

Lies That Go Unchallenged: in Popular Culture

Insightful and practical, this book is ideal for group or individual study.

 Culture Shift
