Two bisexual women and one man proclaim threesome marriage "should be the future of relationships" and that their threesome parenting is "setting a good example."

Adam Lyons, 36, lives openly with two women, 28-year-old Brooke Shedd - with whom he has a two-year-old son, and 27-year-old Jane Shalakhova - who is eight months' pregnant with his third son. He already has a seven-year-old stepson from yet another relationship.

"Three parents are better than two," Lyons told the New York Post. "It enables us to manage daily life so much better."

He says he notices "normal" two-person couples are often exhausted and struggle to keep up with work and children. "With three people, it's logistically so much easier . . . We share out the responsibilities, and it fits our sexual preferences too."

"This should be the future of relationships, where people are able to enjoy love in any way they feel works," Lyons advocated. "Three people and three parents makes so much sense to us."

Family Research Council’s Peter Sprigg pointed out that if Lyons' "arrangement" is true, it confirms the many warnings of concerned Christians.

"Living in a household with their mother, father, and another woman they also refer to as 'Mom' is likely to create confusion about their place in the world," he explained. "As they grow older, there may well be rivalries between the half-siblings who have different mothers - as is clearly seen in the polygamous families of the Old Testament."

The Harper government is bracing for international backlash to its proposed new law that would ban people in polygamous and forced marriages from immigrating to Canada, The Canadian Press has learned.

Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced the legislation Wednesday, calling such practices "incompatible with Canadian values."

The Conservative government promised in its 2013 throne speech to take steps on forced marriages and so-called honour killings.

The government is proposing to set 16 as the national age of marriage in legislation introduced in the House of Commons on Wednesday that it says will help keep "barbaric cultural practices" out of Canada.

The bill tabled by Chris Alexander, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, targets early forced marriages as well as polygamy, which the legislation would make grounds for deportation.

The Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act would make it a criminal offence to participate in or officiate at the marriage of an underage child. Removing a child from Canada for the purposes of forced marriage would also be criminalized.

VANCOUVER — The constitutionality of Canada’s polygamy law will be decided Wednesday by B.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Judge Bauman.

If the judge decides to strike down the polygamy law, it could have wide-ranging implications for pensions, health benefits and immigration policies, a Vancouver lawyer said Tuesday.
