Ben Levin's sentencing hearing to begin

Ben Levin's fall from the heights of Ontario's academic circles continues this week as the former Ontario deputy education minister is sentenced for creating and possessing child pornography and counselling to commit a sexual assault.

The former esteemed educator and tenured University of Toronto professor pleaded guilty to the crimes last month. Monday marks the first of three scheduled days in his sentencing hearing before Justice Heather McArthur.

His hearing will explore the depths of his depravity and the heights of his achievement, as well as his efforts to rehabilitate himself since his crimes were uncovered by police forces in Toronto, New Zealand and London, Ont.
