Sex-ed curriculum protests follow Wynne to Mississauga

A heated issue for the provincial government remained hot on Thursday night as more than 200 protesters descended on the Verdi Hospitality Center to protest planned changes to Ontario's sex-ed curriculum with Premier Kathleen Wynne in town.

Wynne was in Mississauga hosting a meet and greet for ethnic members of the media and briefly addressed the concerns of the protesters during her speech.

"We recognize that the world is a very different place than it was 17 years ago when we last revised this portion of the elementary curriculum," said Wynne. "We know that children have access to information through smart phones and social media, much of it inaccurate. They have access to information they did not have in 1998."
