ISIS Beheads 4 Christian Children in Iraq

ISIS has beheaded four Christian children in Iraq, according to a source.

All four of the beheaded children were reportedly under the age of 15.

The Vicar of Baghdad, Canon Andrew White, said it happened because the children would not renounce Jesus and their faith.

Nigeria reaches ceasefire with Boko Haram, 219 captive girls to be freed after six months

Nigeria's official news agency says the government and Islamic extremists from Boko Haram have agreed to an immediate cease-fire.

It quotes the chief of defense staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, as ordering his troops to immediately comply with the agreement.

The news comes as another official confirmed there had been direct negotiations this week in neighboring Chad about the release of more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he said an official statement will be released later Friday.

Christian Mom Asia Bibi Sentenced to Death Will Hang for "Blasphemy" Pakistan Appeals Court Says

An appeals court in Lahore Pakistan has upheld the death sentence for a Christian woman, Asia Bibi, who was convicted of "blasphemy" (speaking against the prophet Muhammad) in 2010.

As BBC News reports:

Asia Bibi was found guilty of making derogatory comments about the Prophet Muhammad during an argument with a Muslim woman.

The Lahore High Court rejected her appeal against the sentence passed by a lower court. Her lawyers have vowed to take the case to the Supreme Court.

Ms Bibi's sentence in 2010 sparked global condemnation.

Australian police thwart beheading plot

Militants connected with radical group Islamic State were planning to behead a member of the public in Australia, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Thursday, after hundreds of police raided homes in a sweeping counter-terrorism operation.

Abbott said there was a "serious risk from a terrorist attack" days after Australia raised its national terror threat level to "high" for the first time, citing the likelihood of attacks by Australians radicalised in Iraq or Syria.
