Undercover informant infiltrated a suspected ISIS recruiting network in Ottawa, leading to arrest

An undercover informant infiltrated a suspected ISIS recruiting network in Ottawa, helping RCMP counter-terrorism officers disrupt the operation and bring charges against at least one of the members, the National Post has learned.

Abdullah Milton's family confirmed Wednesday that he was in witness protection following the arrest of alleged ISIS facilitator and financier Awso Peshdary and two associates, John Maguire and Khadar Khalid, both suspected ISIS fighters.

The charge sheet filed in Ontario court by the RCMP alleges that between April 1 and December 7, 2014, Mr. Khalib had counseled Mr. Milton to "knowingly participate in or contribute to, directly or indirectly an activity of a terrorist group."
