Recently, there came a great change in the political landscape of our neighbour to the South. The Republican Party lost its hold on Congress to a very radical Democratic Party.
How did this happen? The media seems to think that it has something to do with the voters disapproval of the War on Terror, or perhaps the recent scandals among Republican officials swayed voters. However, none are mentioning the sharp drop of support from those voters who identify themselves as Evangelical Christians. And while they have noted the fall of Ted Haggard, few are linking him to the election.
And yet, even before his sordid personal life came to light (effectively ending his ministry), he had delivered the Evangelical vote into the hands of their enemy, the Left wing of American politics.
In this devastating and insightful book, Dr. Charles McVety exposes the cause for which Haggard betrayed his political allies and how it is linked to the great falling away predicted in scripture.

Brian mulroney
After nine years of Brian Mulroney as Prime Minister, Canadians rejected his form of Red Tory Conservatism. The Gallup Poll in 1993 recorded just 15% national support for Prime Minister Mulroney, the lowest for any Prime Minister in Canadian history. Consequently, his Progressive Conservative Party imploded from 151 seats to just two members in parliament. Mr. Mulroney reneged on his promise of low taxes by introducing the GST; he lowered national morals by launching his gay agenda and decreasing the age of consent of sex to 14; and he blew the bottom out of political ethics by receiving three hundred thousand dollars in cash from Karl Heinz Schreiber. It took 13 years to rebuild a truly conservative movement, but now Brian Mulroney has entered the back door of the Conservative Party with a second round of destruction.
Brian Mulroney is a crude, harsh agent of change, and not a true conservative. The dictionary describes “conservative” as one who is “disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change”. Brian Mulroney abandoned the historical roots of the Conservative party and imposed his harsh, mean-spirited liberal agenda. His interviews with Peter Newman demonstrated how harsh he really is. Mulroney stated, “we rammed the Free Trade Agreement through. And we brought in the toughest g_d__n. budget since World War II.” Mr. Mulroney is a liberal in a blue suit.
When reporter Peter Newman asked Mr. Mulroney about his dealings with the Press, he replied “I don’t give a sh__ what they think. I don’t give a sh__ what they think. I could care less. I haven’t had a press conference in this place in three years. If the rules of the game are that the press gallery thinks that they’re going to abuse me, f___ ‘em. I just cut them off for three years of any access to the Prime Minister of Canada. You don't think that they're not hurting? I want to tell you they're down on their g_d__n knees.” At the Press Gallery dinner, Mulroney shouted "Peter Newman; go f__ yourself."
In his term in office, Mr. Mulroney executed his liberal plan to undermine the basic morals of Canada. In 1988, he passed Bill C-15 that amended the Criminal Code of Canada, Sections 151 and 152, to allow adults to have sex with children as young as 14 years old. In 1992, he introduced Bill C-108 which attempted to add "sexual orientation" to the Canadian Human Rights Act. Even his own Conservative members voted against this radical change, so Mr. Mulroney turned to plan “B”. He started a new era of appointing activist judges to write new laws that supersede Parliament.
Mr. Mulroney was responsible for appointing most of Canada’s Judges who changed the nation’s laws in favour of same-sex adoption, spousal benefits, and same-sex marriage. The very Judge who redefined marriage, Chief Justice of Ontario Roy McMurtry, was a Brian Mulroney appointee. During his time as Prime Minister, Mulroney appointed 10 Supreme Court Judges. The most controversial was Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin. She is infamous for stating that Judges should feel "emboldened" to trump the written word of the Constitution when protecting fundamental, unwritten principles and rights.
Mulroney’s band of activist judges decided, in the Vriend case, to force a Christian College in Edmonton to allow a homosexual librarian to continue to undermine their religious principles in their own library. The Supreme Court’s “M vs. H” decision changed hundreds of laws across the country, dealing with family and spouse. The Supreme Court ruled in favour of Jim Egan and Jack Nesbit, two homosexual men who sued Ottawa for the right to claim a spousal pension under the Old Age Security Act. Mulroney could not implement his homosexual agenda through Parliament, so he had to create Super-legislators in the Courts to do his dirty work. It worked.
Just when everyone thought Brian Mulroney was finished, he re-surfaced during the 2006 election. Mulroney is Chairman of the Board of Quebecor World Inc., and International Board Member of the Power Corporation of Canada, and these entities to assisted Stephen Harper in Quebec during the election. According to the polls, Stephen Harper began the election with 6% support in the province. Power Corp’s newspapers, such as La Presse in Montreal, started to endorse Harper, and Quebecor’s media outlets followed suit. Harper’s numbers dramatically increased, and he received 24.6% of the vote, winning 10 Quebec seats. This victory gave Mr. Mulroney a back door into the Prime Minister’s Office. Mulroney’s Chief of Staff, Derek Burney, headed the transition team shaping Harper’s Cabinet and staff. Mr. Mulroney’s law partner Michael Fortier was appointed to Cabinet as the Public Works Minister even though he was never elected to parliament.
Now that Mulroney is close to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the allegations of unethical behaviour by the former Prime Minister threaten to damage the Conservative brand once again. Fearing tax implications, Brian Mulroney sent in a late filing to Canada Revenue Agency, and declared the $300,000 cash payments he received from Karlheinz Schreiber. This admission refueled investigations into the alleged Airbus payoffs of the 1990s. Canada had purchased airplanes from Airbus worth $1.2 billion dollars. Reports show that a $20 million dollar commission was paid, and $10 million dollars landed in the pockets of Canadians. Karlheinz Schreiber now swears in an affidavit that the $300,000 cash he gave to Brian Mulroney was a payoff for the Airbus contract.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper now has a tough decision to make. He recently announced that he will appoint a David Lloyd Johnston as an advisor and will launch a full public inquiry. The Power Corp. has experience with such investigations. The $65 billion dollar Oil-for-Food scandal with Saddam Hussein led to suspicion of wrong doing by the Power Corp. and its former president, Maurice Strong. Mr. Strong was the senior advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations who appointed Paul Volcker to lead the investigation. Paul Volcker, as a Power Corp board member, subsequently came up with a report clearing the Power Corp. and Maurice Strong.
The United States Congress saw this as a gross conflict of interest, and launched their own investigation. It was found that Maurice Strong received $1 Million in cash from Saddam Hussein. After that, Mr. Strong was forced to step down from the United Nations. Will Mulroney try to pull a Paul Volcker?
Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper is a real conservative, adhering to traditional values of family, honest government, and limited taxation. Mulroney’s first round of Red Tory leadership led to unprecedented failure, and the need to start a new party based on true conservative values. We cannot afford a second round in this battle!
Hopefully, Prime Minister Harper will lead a passionate investigation into the harsh, crude and alleged unethical dealings of Brian Mulroney, and at the same time distance himself from the Mulroney style of government: low taxes, low morals and low ethics.
